Video ConferencingScheduling | Video Contacts | Video Resources | Video Sites Videoconferencing units have been installed in nearly every high school and ESD throughout Oregon. Funding for these units was provided by the 1999 Oregon State Legislative session under bill SB622 with funding ending in December of 2001. The initial design was a separate video network a dedicated video circuit going back to a central point for the control and bridging of the video signals. With the end of the SB622 funding, K-12 has moved to fulfill the vision of a scalable and integrated data, video, and voice network by moving to a distributed network model utilizing regional video hubs and the existing data network. What is video conferencing used for?Our video conferencing network is providing administrators and staff the means to save time and money while increasing the opportunity to attend meetings and trainings that might otherwise be missed. Distance learning classes are bringing students and staff valuable opportunities and filling gaps in small and rural schools. This is being augmented state-wide with partnerships that are being formed with other educators like the Community Colleges and OUS.
